What this site keeps, and what it does not.
Short version: no cookies, no advertising trackers, and your worksheet stays in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere unless you fill in the optional form.
Your worksheet
What you type into the worksheet (your book's reader, promise, chapters and session notes) is saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device, so it is still there when you come back. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else. The site never asks for, records or uploads audio. To delete your worksheet, clear this site's data in your browser settings. Because it lives only in your browser, it will not follow you to another device, and we cannot recover it for you.
Counting visits
To know whether the guides and worksheet are useful, the site counts events such as "a page was viewed." Each count is stored only as a total per day. No cookie is set, and no IP address, device ID or other identifier is stored with the counts. The contents of your worksheet are never part of these counts.
Links that carry campaign tags
If you arrived from a link with campaign tags in the address (such as utm_source), the site keeps those tags in session storage and sends them with the optional form, so Scribe knows which link brought you. Links from this site to scribemedia.com are tagged to show they came from here.
If you send the form
The optional form sends your name, email, optional phone number and anything you write in it to Scribe Media, where it is stored in Scribe's customer system (HubSpot). Scribe uses it to get in touch with you and as described in the Scribe Media privacy policy. A plain-text copy of your worksheet outline (your chapters and the one-line notes you logged against them) is sent with the form too, so the Scribe team can see where you are. No audio ever is. If you would rather not share the outline, click Start over in the worksheet before you send the form. You can unsubscribe from Scribe's emails at any time.
Transcription services are separate
If you follow our guides and upload recordings to a transcription service, that service's own privacy policy and terms apply, not ours. The transcription options guide explains what to look for before uploading.
Fonts and hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Like any web server, these receive standard request information such as your IP address in order to deliver the page.
